GETTIN' BACK INTO IT.

Well, It's been awhile......

After taking most of the summer and fall off, I've come to a few conclusions:
#1: RC racing is tiring, expensive, and sometimes frustrating.
#2: It's also addictive, rewarding, and exciting.

I spent the early part of the outdoor season running a used Associated TC6.2 with great success. I took a few wins and mixed it up on our local scene in Stock TC. It was fast and fun, but something was missing from the experience, and I sold the car after a few weekends of racing.

Then came Mini. I keep gravitating back to this class because of the challenge it brings, and the close racing it cultivates. Say what you want about the cars, speed, rules, etc... when you are shoe-horned in a field of 10 of these little buggers, things get interesting. As pop culture would say: "Shit Gets Real".

For all the fun Tamiya cars, especially the mini bring, I was lacking the drive and motivation to race more. Call it "Married Life", "Daddy Life", "Out of Money life"... all are valid reasons, and probably all had a part in my lack of excitement with the hobby lately. My uninspired attitude came to a head when I chose not to race my favorite event of the year: The TCS Northwest Regional. A choice I definitely regret.

Fast forward to now, this is about the time where I start to get the itch again. No, not THAT itch.... The itch to start wrenching again. For me, bench racing has always been as fun, if not more fun than the racing itself. With winter now looming toward us, it's a great time to dust off the tools, dig out the cars, and get after it in prep for next season. Over the next few posts I'll be tearing down, and fine tuning my "Voodoo-shakes" M03 for a run at next years Regional, and if all goes right, maybe my first trip to So-Cal for the TCS Nationals. Time to wreak some havoc.

Like anyone, I get pre-occupied with other things, other hobbies, etc. As hard as I try though, I just can't stay away from this hobby for too long. Racing and wrenching these little cars is bitchin', and I can't wait to get back into it.
