Club Race Pics, Vol. 2

I'm a bit late in posting these, but then again, I've never been accused of being fashionably-on-time either. Taken from the penultimate club race at Galaxy Hobby on September 7th, which was about as perfect a day as you could ask for. Warm temps, good racing, and good friends.

And now, for the mediocre photography....

The track was flowy, but challenging, with bumps in a few of the apexes.

Signs of a good time.

Gridding up for the GT3 Main.

The Stadium Truck Class is a riot to watch. No other way to put it.

High power, low grip, balls-out.

Jacob Reyes leading the field through the first lap of GT3.

Troy Crabtree had his FF03 out for some season-end testing. Word 'round the pit table is this car will be seeing some Hanger 30 action this upcoming carpet season. Stay tuned.

Jacob's last race with his TA05. He will be fielding a couple of Awesomatix TC's for upcoming indoors.

Last race of the year for "Voodoo Shakes". She's still fast.

Front and rear tire wear. I'll show you the spring color, but the shock internals are open for imagination. ;)

It's been a successful outdoor season for me this year, despite the clear lack of track time. Carpet season is now here, and even though the mini will be shelved until next year, I'm stoked about the changes I've made and the ideas I have for next season. On to "The Great Indoors" for some racing on the rug. Look for my Scale Spec build, featuring a certain British budget rocket ship.... :)

Club Race Pics

In honor of the upcoming "Testing World Championships", or also known as an end of the season club race this Sunday, I thought I'd post a few pics from a couple weeks ago. Enjoy my friends.

The trusty ol' M03, ready for practice.
She was over 2mph slower then the rest of the field down the straight, but she's magic in the twisty bits, as of late.

"Voodoo Shakes" hasn't been living up to her name lately. Quite the contrary, she's been wicked-dialed since Regionals.

Jacob Reyes' M05 is for sale, a great buy for anyone looking for a very fast mini package.

Parking lot Paradise.

"Early morning" practice, at 1pm. Racing got started a bit late....

My dad's M06 seems to get better with each outing. It's actually quite a joy to drive, and great to see the progress at each race.

"Voodoo Shakes" sittin' pretty. Note the R_ team decals. This blog is serious. ;)

Why wing on mini? Because race car.

Mains underway on a toasty track.

GT3 A Main in progress.

There's a straightaway, but this is no speedway. The square shape of the track area puts a premium on infield handling.

Jacob's TA05 was getting a bit of a tune-up before heading to TCS Nats.

Mike Milkinson dropping the hammer on the Stock TC field.

Mike, making it look easy.

Galaxy Playdate This Weekend, 9/7/14

Carpet season is just about here, along with the notorious PNW "liquid sunshine". Soon enough, weather variations and lack of grip will be replaced with carpet fuzz and traction roll as the enemies of choice. It looks like, however, Mother Nature has spared us weekend warriors for at least one more day of parking lot racing and sunburns.

Galaxy hobby will be hosting their penultimate club race of the 2014 season this Sunday, the 7th. These last few races historically have been light on turnout, which is great for those getting in some end of season testing. Weather is looking great, with highs into the low 80's, equaling the last few race days we've had around here. Thank you racing gods!

Stop by and turn some laps with us, should be a laid-back day with plenty of track time, which the last time I checked, was definitely NOT a bad thing. Just Sayin'.
